Tissue expansion is a relatively straightforward procedure that enables the whole body to "grow" extra epidermis for use in rebuilding any part of the whole body. A plastic balloon expander is placed under the epidermis near the area to be fixed and then progressively filled with salt-water over time, causing the skin to stretch and develop. Although tissue development is most commonly used for breast renovation, it also may be used to repair epidermis damaged by birth problems, accidents or surgery, and in certain cosmetic procedures.
Surgeon recommend local anesthesia, along with a sedative to make you sleepy. The results of tissue expansion are excellent to other methods used to restore or repair broken skin. For tissue expansion patients, the process considerably enhances their overall look and quality of life.
